Encrypt what you seek with Google Search


Google has recently made public their secure search feature. What that means is that, now you can search anything on the web without anyone snooping on your activity. Its psychologically assuring for some and critical for others. It may or may not mean anything to some. But the fact that Google has even considers something like this for the users is commendable.

Why would one need encrypted search?

  • Some governments snoop on their citizens. An encrypted search is reassuring that no would know what you do online.
  • If you do not wanted to leave surfing trace on a public PC, its highly recommended that you use encryption.
  • If you are afraid that the authority might prosecute you for accessing certain kind of information  (e.g. starting a revolution)
  • What ever be the reason, the fact is that Google does seem to care for the users privacy & rights, and has given a very useful feature that can help achieve it.


All you need to do is type encrypted.google.com  and Google throw a secure page on your browser.  And here is how you know that the page is encrypted.
